“I loved the way you described Dominican baseball…it really hit every aspect of Dominican ball. Being
a Dominican myself I'm really proud and full of pride of my country's baseball history and culture. THX for letting the world
know how important baseball is for us and how baseball is in the Dominican everyday life! I'm really looking forward to reading
some of the other countries baseball traditions and guides!! Great stuff!” – Ariel, Dominican Republic
“Have read your contribution
about Venezuela, I think it is good, quite
all your information is true and sticks to reality.” – Adriano, Venezuela
“Remember
you told me how to get cheap tickets?? I did exactly what you told me and it worked out perfectly. I was checking your website
and you have amazing pictures, I like those from Mazatlan.” – Vin, Aguascalientes, Mexico
The site of the annual Latin baseball celebration rotates every year. The Dominican Republic has had the most success
in the recent era of the series. Before Fidel Castro came to power and banned professional baseball, Castro's Cuba: The Forbidden Island had achieved the most success at the series while Panama's Passion was also displayed in the event long, long ago.
You can learn more about baseball in Latin America in The World in a Ballpark:
Baseball Goes Global, which is available for purchase at the Buy Joe's Guides page.

The Dominican Republic captured the title in 2007 and 2008. Venezuela won the series in 2006, and Mexico
was the champion in 2005.
The Dominican Republic hosted in 2008; Mexicali, Mexico hosts in 2009 and Venezuela in 2010. The series is
always a week-long event taking place the first week of February. We hope you enjoy this baseball collage, Latin style!
